Selected Independent Funeral Homes is a nonprofit, international association of independent and privately owned funeral service firms, whose common interest is in continuous growth and improvement.
Our ongoing mission is to:
- Study, develop and establish the highest standards of service for the benefit of consumers
- Provide a continuing forum for the exchange, development and dissemination of knowledge and information beneficial to members and the public
- Furnish information to members and to the public regarding all aspects of funeral service
- Cooperate with communities and other organizations, public and private, to achieve these purposes and objectives
Membership in Selected Independent Funeral Homes carries with it the responsibility to maintain the highest levels of professional conduct and service.
As a requirement of membership and to continually improve services, Selected Independent Funeral Homes members regularly survey families regarding their experiences with their funeral home. The survey may be anonymous and inquires into areas such as the condition of the funeral home, courtesy of the staff and the freedom to make decisions without sales pressure. Completed survey forms are tabulated by the Association Headquarters and returned to the individual member firms for evaluation.
