The afternoon of arrival will include a guided orientation of Dublin city center followed by a reception at the hotel. Dinner is planned at one of Dublin’s most talked about and stylish restaurants, Brownes Brasserie. Executive Chef David Willcocks puts a unique twist on traditional Irish dishes that reflects the diversity of modern Irish dining.
A full Irish breakfast at the hotel will begin the second day. Then, a private Viking Splash tour will provide a great opportunity to learn about the history and sites of Dublin city. Amphibious vehicles will carry participants through the streets of Dublin to see famous cathedrals, Viking Dublin, Leinster House and Georgian Dublin. The highlight of the tour is “splashdown” into the water with a fantastic trip around the newly developed Grand Canal Docklands.
Lunch will be held at the Arrol Bar at the Guinness Storehouse, originally built in 1904 to house the brewery’s fermentation process. Here, guests will discover what goes into making the range of Guinness products.
After lunch, a private luxury coach will take the group to Trinity College, Ireland’s oldest and most famous. Its principle treasure is the 8th century hand-illuminated Book of Kells, generally considered the most striking manuscript produced in the Anglo-Saxon world and one of the greatest masterpieces of early Christian art. Dinner will be at Johnnie Foxes Pub in Glencullen, on top of the Dublin mountains, where guests will enjoy a “hoolie night” with authentic entertainment provided by one of the best traditional Irish music groups in Dublin and world champion Irish dancers performing a specially commissioned show.
Day three will feature a morning business sessions. Then, afternoon golfing is planned at Castleknock Golf Club, Dublin’s newest golf facility. Opened in 2005, it has already achieved a ranking in Ireland’s top 100 golf courses by Golf Digest Magazine. Non-golfers can enjoy a Bloomsday tour of Dublin. A gala, four-course dinner will be held at the Stephens Green Club, one of the architectural gems of the Georgian period, followed by an address from Senator David Norris. The party will then retire to the Card Room for Irish music and dancing.
A morning business session on day four will feature Thomas Lynch. Lunch will be hosted at The Pearl Brasserie Restaurant, next door to The Merrion. Pearl is listed in the top 100 restaurants in Ireland and is a fine way to say farewell to dear old Dublin!
