Selected Welcomes Weigel Funeral Home to Membership

We are pleased to announce that Weigel Funeral Home is the newest member of Selected. Weigel Funeral Home, located in Batesville, IN, was previously listed as a branch location of Selected member Menke Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Sun City, Arizona, but is now characterized as a separate firm.

The firm was established in 1913 as Weigel & Burst Undertakers by William Weigel and Joseph Burst. The partnership was dissolved in the early 1930s and the name changed to M.C. Weigel & Son Funeral Home. Additional Weigel family members joined the funeral home over the years until 2003 when partners Cynthia Johnson, Terrance A. Mollaun, Stephen E. Burns and John R. Wanstrath purchased the firm. Michael Roemmich, the current manager, returned to his home state in 2023 and is a first generation funeral director. Weigel has also recently acquired two new local Indiana locations operating as Cook Rosenberger Funeral Homes.

Beyond their services, the Weigel team remains active in supporting local organizations and community events, reflecting their long-standing commitment to the Batesville area and the families they serve. Please reach out to welcome them.
