Welcome Carter Funeral Home to Selected

In 1941, Hazel Bagley Carter opened a funeral home in Hinesville, GA. During the last 70 years, Carter Funeral Home has continued to be a family-owned business, working to provide complete care for families in times of sorrow. After their Mother's passing, Sanford Carter, Sr. and Donald M. Carter took over the operation of the funeral home. After Don's passing, Sanford Carter, Sr. and Sanford Carter, Jr. now operate the business, carrying it into its third generation of family ownership. The funeral home moved to its present location in 1973.

Sanford L. Carter Jr., owner of Carter Funeral Home, is a lifelong resident of Liberty County with deep roots in the community and a lifelong commitment to the funeral profession. He is a proud 1986 graduate of Bradwell Institute and went on to earn his degree from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1991. With a lifetime of experience in the funeral industry, Sanford approaches his work with unwavering compassion, always striving to go above and beyond in guiding and supporting families during their most difficult times.

Andy attended Ogeechee Technical College, graduating with honors in 2024 and earning an Associate of Applied Science in Funeral Service Education. A licensed funeral director and embalmer, he has been a dedicated part of Carter Funeral Home since a very young age, following in the footsteps of his family. Andy represents the fourth generation committed to serving the Liberty County community with compassion and professionalism.
