Welcome New River Gorge Funeral Service to Selected

New River Gorge Funeral Service is a new locally owned and operated funeral and cremation provider located in a historic building which has served many generations of Fayette County families. This means that all policies and procedures which guide the operation of the funeral home are made in West Virginia. The facility has been recently renovated and furnished. Each arrangement and facility of the home was carefully considered for its beauty, comfort, and usefulness to members of the community.

Brent Cook is a graduate of Washington & Lee University of Lexington, VA and the Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service in Houston, TX. In addition to being a funeral director and embalmer, Brent is a physician and a US Army veteran. He practiced medicine for a number of years in the Army and worked as a civilian after leaving Active duty. Brent has over forty years of experience in funeral service and has worked for and managed some of the largest and most prestigious funeral homes in the United States including A.S. Turner & Sons in Decatur, GA, H.M. Patterson & Son in Atlanta, GA, Forest Park Lawndale in Houston, TX, Sparkman-Hillcrest in Dallas, TX, Thomas McAfee in Greenville, SC, and McEwen Funeral Service in Charlotte, NC.
