Welcome Rose & Hughes Funeral Home to Selected

The firm was established in 1949 as Jendrzejczak Funeral Home by Vincent C. Jendrzejczak. George E. Jendrzejczak started working for the firm in 1987 as a Funeral Director and later served as owner and manager until 2023. In January 2024, Peter J. Rose and Martin J. Hughes purchased the funeral home and pledged to continue the Jendrzejczak family legacy of caring for and serving families with courtesy, compassion, and professionalism. At that time, the name was changed to Rose & Hughes Funeral Home, while George remained on as Manager.

As a family-owned and operated funeral home, it has always been their commitment that the name on the building is the same name that will guide families through every step of the funeral process. Peter and Martin are dedicated to serving each family as they would their own, providing professional, courteous, and compassionate care while delivering the highest quality service during life's most difficult moments. Their experienced directors are committed to supporting families, honoring their wishes, and helping them celebrate the life and legacy of their loved one.

Community involvement is especially important to both Peter and Martin. Peter, a lifelong resident of the Mohawk Valley, serves on the Board of Directors of the Sarah Jane Sanford Home for Women and The Foundation of SUNY FMCC, and is Treasurer of the Montgomery County Office for Aging Foundation. Martin, a lifelong resident of Amsterdam, is a member of the Sons of the American Legion Squadron #701, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks #101, and the Ancient Order of Hibernians. He also serves on several local boards and organizations, including Veterans Time to Thrive (VT3) and the Horace J. Inman Senior Center.

Through their professional service and active community involvement, Peter and Martin remain committed to honoring longstanding traditions while providing compassionate support to families throughout the Mohawk Valley.
