Moderator Bios
Kristen Ernst, MA, LPC, is the owner and operator of The Center for Hope & Healing; a full-service counseling firm based in St. Charles, MO since 2019. Prior to this, she was the Director of Grief Services, a grief counselor, and a support group coordinator for the Baue Funeral Homes, Crematory and Cemetery in St. Charles.
With over 10 years of experience working with funeral directors and hospice patients and their families, Kristen serves many traumatic loss groups as a speaker, educator and facilitator. She also runs in-person and virtual support groups for funeral homes in the U.S. Kristen enjoys assisting in the development of people’s self-advocacy, coping with life losses and creating a safe and conducive environment for others to empower themselves for a better quality of life.Lisa Baue is the former CEO/President of Baue Funeral Homes, Crematory and Cemetery, a leading funeral service company in the St. Louis region. She is a third-generation, 43-year licensed funeral director who purchased her family's business after the sudden death of her father.
In the fall of 2021, Lisa began the leadership consulting business, Your Funeral Coach, to serve her profession by helping funeral service professionals grow and thrive. She is also passionate about supporting women as they continue to increase their representation in the funeral profession. Lisa remains active in funeral service volunteering, philanthropy and educational causes. She is currently serving as the first woman chair of the Board of Trustees of the Funeral Service Foundation in 2022/23. She is a proud supporter of Selected’s Institute for Exceptional Funeral Service.
