Welcome to Selected Membership. Now What?
Selected is happy to welcome new members to the family of independently-owned funeral homes. For more than a century, Selected has been connecting the best and brightest of funeral professionals and seeking innovative ways to help members better serve families and poise their businesses for success.
This area is designed specifically for members who have recently joined or any member who would like a quick refresher on membership details.
Members-Only Access. Members are given login credentials to access the "members-only" portion of the website that contains a tremendous amount of resources. To request member access or assistance resetting a password, please click here.
Discussion Forum Access. Anyone on a member's staff can be issued access to the Discussion Forum. There are three different platforms: General, Funeral Home + Cemetery Management and European. To request access to the Discussion Forum, click here.
Onboarding. Every new member will receive an onboarding call to discuss member benefits and details from Headquarters staff. The call will be scheduled the first month after joining Selected. This is typically a conference call or Zoom meeting that allows members the opportunity to ask questions and walk through all the membership offerings to help them maximize their benefits. Membership Benefit Spotlights. During the course of the first year of membership, new members will receive 12 emails, each focusing on a particular member benefit to help them better understand each offering.

Leveraging Your Membership. Being part of Selected is an honor, and this message should be leveraged to each member's audience. Members can add the Member by Invitation logo to their websites and marketing collateral. Selected also provides a press release template for members to share the news of their membership with local media and their community.
Membership in Selected offers so many ways to connect with colleagues through face-to-face and virtual meetings. Participation in these valuable programs targeted for member's needs provide information and services to help them grow. In addition, Selected Resources provide products, Preferred Partners and support exclusively to members. The Preferred Partner Program is a network of funeral service consultants and vendors that offer special services, products and discounts to members.
Communication is important. Selected keeps members informed using electronic and printed communications. As a member, it is helpful to keep abreast of all the activities that are going on at Selected and hear news about the profession and fellow members. Selected offers several publications designed to inform different portions of membership.
- The Link — Weekly eNewsletter covering association, industry and member news.
- Resources eNews — Monthly eNewsletter about educational materials available for purchase and offerings from the Preferred Partner Program.
- The Generator — Monthly eNewsletter for the next generation of funeral professionals and those new to the profession.
- Study Group eNews — Monthly eNewsletter for those participating in the Selected Study Groups Program.
- Selected Transfer Services (STS) Quarterly — Quarterly eNewsletter for firms who are part of the STS network with news and tips about best practices in transfer and shipping, plus the ability to book flights.
- The Bulletin — Selected's premier bi-monthly magazine (printed and online) covering important topics, interviews, feature articles and much more.
Update Member Data. Be sure to keep Selected posted when staff changes are made by emailing updates to Headquarters or calling (800) 323-4219. Selected wants to keep the list of our members' employees and contact information correct.
Share Ideas. Selected wants to hear members' ideas, thoughts and concerns. Members are encouraged to share their success stories so Selected can celebrate and share them with the full membership. Selected is committed to providing relevant opportunities tailored to the needs and interests of members. "Connecting Leaders" is part of Selected's tagline. Selected works hard to find ways to connect Selected members with common interests. There are several special interest groups and programs to help members locate their tribe and network.

There is something truly special that occurs whenever Selected members gather. It's what always has set Selected apart. Selected's meeting opportunities serve as a catalyst for positive change and an innovation incubator for the best and brightest in funeral service.
