Forum FOCUS: Expert Edition FAQs

Selected is excited to launch the new Forum FOCUS: Expert Edition in 2022. These virtual meetings (via Zoom) will feature sessions with professional speakers and Preferred Partner experts, along with Selected member interaction — all designed to focus on relevant and impactful management topics that impact the daily operations of member firms. In addition, Selected will apply for continuing education credit for the sessions to the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice and states requiring CE.

GENERAL MEETING INFORMATION

When are the Forum FOCUS: Expert Edition meetings being held?

There are two separate meetings scheduled: May 5, 2022 and June 2, 2022. Each meeting requires separate registration. Members can register for one or both meetings.

Do I have to be a member of Selected to attend the Forum FOCUS: Expert Edition meetings?

Because these meetings offer continuing education, we are required to make sessions available to non-members of Selected.

Who is sponsoring the 2022 Forum FOCUS: Expert Editions?

What format are the 2022 Forum FOCUS: Expert Editions being offered?

The Forum FOCUS: Expert Editions are offered as livestream Zoom meetings. Livestream meeting sessions will not have playback functionality, but the meeting archive page will be updated with meeting information 2-4 weeks after each meeting. NOTE: Recordings will not be made of all sessions.

MEETING REGISTRATION

How do I register for the 2022 Forum FOCUS: Expert Edition?

Online registration for members will be accessible on Selected’s Forum FOCUS: Expert Edition landing page.

Are there registration fees for the 2022 Forum FOCUS: Expert Edition meetings and what does it include?

The livestream registration fee for a continuing education participant for each meeting is $195.00, and the view-only livestream registration fee for each meeting is $95.00. Each meeting requires separate registration. Members can register for one or both meetings. Registration includes access to all livestreamed content during each meeting.

What is the refund policy if I cancel or can’t participate in the 2022 Forum FOCUS: Expert Edition meetings?

If you are unable to attend, you are welcome to send a substitute. Simply email meetings@selectedfuneralhomes.org or call 800-323-4219 to provide the name and email address of the substitute.

For the May 5, 2022 meeting:
Cancellation of registration received prior to April 21, 2022 will result in a full refund, less a service charge of $50. Selected regrets that refunds will not be given for no-shows or cancellations after May 12, 2022. Any requests for exceptions to the cancellation/refund policy must be submitted in writing by the registrant with appropriate documentation no later than May 12, 2022. After that time, no refund considerations will be made.

For the June 2, 2022 meeting:
Cancellation of registration received prior to May 19, 2022 will result in a full refund, less a service charge of $50. Selected regrets that refunds will not be given for no-shows or cancellations after June 9, 2022. Any requests for exceptions to the cancellation/refund policy must be submitted in writing by the registrant with appropriate documentation no later than June 9, 2022. After that time, no refund considerations will be made.

LIVESTREAM (ZOOM) ACCESS INFORMATION

How do I access the livestream?

Access information will be sent via email to the email address(es) provided in your registration the day prior to the meeting, so be sure to check your inbox (or other folders).

What platform will be used?

The meetings will be held on Zoom. Participants should be sure to open Zoom prior to the meeting to ensure they have the latest updates installed.

Who do I contact for technical questions?

Participants should visit the Zoom website for a variety of resources. Zoom technical support information also can be accessed on their website.

EDUCATION

How many continuing education credits can I qualify for?

Selected has applied for 3.0 hours of continuing education credit for each of the two meetings to the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice and all states requiring CE. For a list of approvals received, click here.

How do I verify my attendance to receive CE credit?

You will be asked to provide your name, the state(s) in which you require credit, and your Funeral Director Number and/or Embalmer Number to the Meeting Host in the Zoom chat during the meeting. This is how Selected will verify your attendance.

Do I get CE credits if I only participate in a few sessions?

It is the participant’s responsibility to confirm that the session(s) has been approved by your state and/or that your state offers CE credit for individual sessions. Some states require attendance in the entire meeting to receive credit and do not award partial credit.

When will I be able to view session content after the 2022 Forum FOCUS: Expert Edition meetings are over (contributed material, session recordings, etc.)?

Slides, handouts and other materials will be available on the Forum FOCUS meeting archive webpages within 2-4 weeks following the meeting conclusion. NOTE: Recordings will not be made of all sessions.

Can I get continuing education credit for watching sessions at a later date on-demand?

Credit cannot be granted for watching on-demand at a later date.
